Fun Facts: Editor Steve Forner got an unexpected visit from the LAPD while editing the ‘Eye Vacuum’ scene.

The film takes place between ‘Saw’ and ‘Saw 2’

This is the first Saw movie to get a ‘fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

This is also the first Saw movie to not feature a cop plot.

Summary: Jigsaw aka John Kramer travels to Mexico, hoping to get his cancer removed, but once he discovered that the operation was a scam, I’m gonna say…the con men will soon wish they never scammed the infamous Jigsaw.

The One Liner Review: While the other Saw films has a Trap/Cop plot, this one is the first of the franchise to actually tell a story and actually focus on Jigsaw, but don’t worry, the traps are still here and gory as ever.

Fun Fact: Even though this is the fifth installment in the franchise, the film does not include Carmen and Juni Cortez.

Summary: A brother and sister accidentally unleashed the code that could take over all the devices in the world, and to their surprise, their parents are spies.

The One Liner Review: So the lesson for this movie is trying to bring out the next gen to some of the franchises certainly won’t make them better…especially this one…at least to the adults.

Fun Fact: The film is a sequel to Capobianco’s 2009 short film ‘Leonardo’

Summary: The film follows Da Vinci who travels to France to continue his experiments.

The One Liner Review: Capobianco’s ideal animated feature would have worked better as a short, and if that’s not the case, there are some (or many) things from Da Vinci’s life that would have made this beautifully animated biopic even more marvelous,

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3

Quote: “Secrets are a waste of time. In this life, be open about what you want.”- Victory

In one of the scenes, Nicky and Angelo drives a convertible with a license plate that said ‘NIA’ because…of Nia Vardalos.

Summary: After the head of the Portokalos family died, his family travels to his childhood village in Greece to find his childhood friends.

The One Liner Review: Even if its slightly better than the 2nd film and it doesn’t repeat the first film, the idea of the Portokalos traveling to Greece sadly arrived at the party too late.

A Haunting in Venice

Favorite Character: Hercule Poirot

Quote: “Scary stories make life less scary.”-Ariadne Oliver

Fun Facts: Hallowe’en Party is set in UK but this movie sets in Venice (if the title didn’t tip you off).

There were a lot of surprises for the cast while filming the scenes, especially the seance scene.

Summary: On Halloween night in Venice, a retired detective finds himself coming out of retirement when a murder occurred during the seance.

The One Liner Review: Comparing this to the movie plot and the Wikipedia summary, it’s difficult for me to follow it, and probably the other works of Agatha Christie, but it was a nice touch to add some horror to the mystery.

Favorite Character: Jann Mardenborough

Quote: “This is not a video game. This is reality.”- Jack Salter

Fun Facts: The real Jann Mardenborough served as a stunt double for the film.

Jack Salter isn’t a real character.

There was a GT Academy but sadly, it closed down in 2016.

The film became controversial for using Mardenborough’s 2015 accident in the film.

Summary: A huge gamer joins the GT Academy hoping to get into professional racing.

The One Liner Review: Yeah, racing and underdog movies are practically the same, and yes, its a true story with the video game title slapped on but this does have really cool editing and is a fun race.

Fun Facts: N/A

Summary: A spy is given a mission to stop the enemy from stealing the world’s most powerful computer that is known as ‘The Heart’

The One Liner Summary: Is Cinema supposed to be creative? Because I don’t see any here, all I see is a MI knockoff so Tom Harper really didn’t play his cards right.

Ice Vanilla’s Ninja Rap from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze can be briefly heard in one of the scenes.

Most animated movies had the cast record their line separately but this movie there are up to 7 actors in a recording booth.

Considering Point Grey pictures films are usually R rated, this is the first time it has a family friendly rating.

Summary: Four mutated 15 year old turtles faces two challenges, one is to gain Peoples love and two, facing Superfly and his mutant army.

The One Liner Review: This next-gen animated film has outdone Spider-Man as the animated coming of age superhero movie, courtesy of the humorous mind of Seth Rogen! (Take that Michael Bay!)
