Fun Facts: This is Chadwick Boseman’s final film debut.
The film’s makeup artists are the first colored people to be nominated (and won) for an oscar for this category.
This has nothing to do with the film, but ‘Black Bottom’ is an actual dance in the 1920’s which is popular with african americans.
In the play, Ma Rainey didn’t show up till later but in the film, she appears in the beginning.
Summary: In 1927, a singer and her band prepared to record their song.
The Review: For the late Chadwick Boseman’s last performance, he sure knows how to pull it off, making this amazingly crafted drama completely watchable.
