Fun Facts: Despite the fifth film in the Conjuring franchise, the film was actually the first film in the Conjuring universe (it sets in 1952).

Taissa Farmiga, the actress who plays Sister Irene, turned out to be a younger sister of actress Vera Farmiga, who appeared as Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring 1 and 2.

The movie was not allowed to be filmed in actual churches in Romania, so the church scenes you see are really made from scratch.

Joseph Bishara usually composes music in the Conjuring films, but not this one.

Summary: In 1952, A priest and the nun are sent to investigate the death of the other nun and things really take a creepy turn.

The Review: The jumpscares really don’t seem to connect to the lame plot even though they kept the film the darkest in the franchise as they promised.
